Something nice.

Sometimes I trawl through the albums on my ipod and find some stuff that I am sure I have never noticed, nor listened to, before. They are albums that people from my past had once transferred onto my ipod from their tunes.

It’s nice, you know?

It’s nice listening to stuff that people thought I would enjoy and connect with.

Even if you dont talk to the person anymore, it’s kind of as if you are still connected to their soul.

My sister just came home and found me, asleep, sitting upright on the couch, in the dark, surrounded by The Fratellis CDs, a JB HiFi bag and plastic packaging.

She called it “the scene of an overdose”.

Listening to music is like cuddles for my ears.

Dandy Warhols- We Used to Be Friends

(via caffeinatedseattleite-deactivat)

Oh my goodness, this is amazing!

…Just don’t ask questions of how I found it.

So last night I went to this pub which is kind of local to me but I had never actually been there. As it turns out, it actually plays really awesome music. It pretty much made my night.

It’s pretty rare to hear anything that is not ‘top 40’ or specifically written so that people can grind to it at venues around my area.

What if it’s only worth the bundle of nerves it’s written on?

First listen to All Eternals Deck by The Mountain Goats.

Fuck. John Darnielle is so epic.

I didn’t think my love for TMG could grow any larger, but alas.

LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Retail therapy in an unknown land.

It’s been a pretty hectic four days at work. My week actually ends tomorrow, but I decided, seeing as it was Friday and The Great Impression came out today, I would hit up the local shopping center for some CDs. I rarely go to this particular shopping center, but um… it’s full of westies, as Sydney folk would say. Not that I’m discriminating- I am equally socially awkward around all types. So I turn up, and feel really out of place. Mainly because I am not wearing a Brittney Spears-esque highschool uniform ( I weep for the future). I pretty much speed walk to JB HiFi, stopping only at sportsgirl along the way. My face pretty much had a permenant cringe on it the whole speed walk trip there. You see, it was a rarety for me to go to this place and not see people I play hockey with/people I play hockey against (worse)/ people from Hurstone Ag ( WORSE-R)/ people who stand behind false allegations of me stealing their boyfriend ( just god damn unrealistic)… to name a few.

Anyway, get to JB. Can’t find the new Strokes or Sparkadia albums. Get the sads. Decide to pick 4 other albums instead. Then see guy with stuble and eyebrow stud thingy stacking ‘JB reccomends’ shelf. Ask him for the mentioned new albums. Talk to JB guy about life etc. Buy albums and go back to being out of place in the general shops. Go into General Pants Co. to buy earings. Store-dude’s hipster haircut makes me feel at ease. End up buying a dress and tights (to wear tomorrow night). Pretty sure the haircut hypnotised me or something. Then head home! I’m going to need a new shelf for the cds soon!
